We’re excited to announce the newest addition to Techne, The Fundamentals. Using the same principle as the app’s PRO subscription — individual soccer training at a fraction of the cost of a private trainer — Fundamentals is a guide for players and parents on the foundational skills necessary to play soccer.
Fundamentals emphasizes both learning and having fun, as well as a chance for parents to instruct and even participate with their players. It allows for an even broader group to enjoy the benefits of the Techne App, which is already used by subscribers in all 50 states in the U.S. and in over 45 countries worldwide.
The three categories included in Fundamentals are: Dribbling, Passing, and Juggling. Check out the full training breakdown. These are the skills soccer players practice continually—from beginners to the most elite in the world. Video introduction (sample of a mini lecture from a dribbling session below) includes helpful tips for players and parents explaining the purpose of the skills, how to improve them, and how to get past any roadblocks along the way.
With the educational content, followed by actual training sessions for players to work through, Fundamentals is reasonably priced at $9.99 per month. A free one-week trial is available for both Fundamentals and the Techne PRO subscription. Use code BLOG for 10% off your first month.
Soccer in the United States has traditionally required a structured environment of coaching and competition, often at significant cost. “In other countries around the world, players create a friendship with the ball, through hours of free play,” says Yael Averbuch, the founder of Techne Futbol. “This independent training is designed to be creative and fun. It also fosters young players’ motivation and develops life skills, such as commitment and self-discipline.”
